Initially, the association focused on organizing annual conferences where economists could exchange ideas and present research. Throughout its history, the IEA has expanded its activities to include workshops, refresher courses, and international collaborations, significantly contributing to the development of economic thought in India. About the Conference

The theme "Advancing Economics: Addressing Contemporary Challenges for a Sustainable Future" underscores the necessity of evolving economic practices to meet the pressing demands of the 21st century. It calls for a critical examination of how economic growth can be harmonized with environmental sustainability, urging policymakers and industry leaders to integrate ecological considerations into economic planning. This approach advocates for the adoption of circular economy principles, resource efficiency, and waste minimization to create a resilient and sustainable economic framework.

Sustainability

Additionally, it highlights the need for robust responses to global shocks, such as pandemics and climate change, through diversification, innovation, and strong governance structures. Also, it focuses on highlighting the importance of balancing economic growth, social fairness, and environmental care. In a time of significant challenges like income gaps, climate issues, and technological changes, the demand for comprehensive and innovative economic strategies is crucial. The conference aims to catalyze discussions and research that will drive sustainable economic development and foster inclusive prosperity on a global scale.

Economic Growth

Moreover, the theme addresses the pivotal issues of social equity and inclusive growth. It emphasizes the importance of reducing income inequality through effective redistribution policies and ensuring that technological advancements contribute to equitable economic opportunities. By considering the impacts of demographic shifts, such as aging populations and migration, the theme seeks to develop comprehensive strategies that promote financial inclusion and access to capital. It also highlights the critical role of healthcare and education in building human capital.

Ultimately, "Advancing Economics" calls for interdisciplinary and international collaboration to create policies that align economic, environmental, and social goals, fostering a sustainable and prosperous future for all. The International Conference on Advancing Economics promises to be a forum of intellectual exchange, collaboration, and innovation, where participants will have the opportunity to engage in forward-looking discussions, share best practices, and develop actionable strategies.
